Regulatory information about our insurance services

1. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

The FCA is the independent watchdog that regulates financial services.

2. Whose product do we offer?

We offer the following products from MS Amlin Syndicate 2001 at Lloyd’s:

  • Pleasure Craft Insurance for private use
  • Floating Homes Contents Insurance
  • Commercial Hull & Liability Insurance
  • All Risks Boat Insurance Policy (wef 15th August 2014)
  • Third Party Only Boat Insurance Policy (wef 15th August 2014)

In addition we offer Marine Legal Protection Insurance administered by Arc Legal Assistance Ltd and underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance S.A.

3. Which service will we provide you with?

You will not receive advice or a recommendation from us regarding the products listed above.

4. What will you have to pay us for our services?

There is no fee for our insurance service.

You will receive a quotation which will tell you about any other fees relating to the insurance policy.

5. Who regulates us?

Haven Knox-Johnston is a trading name of MS Amlin Underwriting Services Limited, The Leadenhall Building, 122 Leadenhall Street, London EC3V 4AG which is authorised and regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. Our Financial Services Register number is 312292.

Our permitted business is General Insurance (Marine).

6. Ownership

MS Amlin Underwriting Services Limited is ultimately owned by MS Amlin.

7. What to do if you have a complaint

If for any reason we are unable to resolve your complaint immediately it will be referred to the Amlin Underwriting Limited Complaints Department and if necessary Lloyd’s and subsequently the UK Financial Ombudsman Service, full details will be provided at each stage of the process.

8. Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

Lloyd’s insurers are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the Scheme if a Lloyd’s insurer is unable to meet its obligations to you under this contract. If you were entitled to compensation under the Scheme, the level and extent of the compensation would depend on the nature of the contract.
